How it works

How playlist submission works

Three groups decide what goes on a playlist: Spotify's editors, independent curators and Spotify's algorithm. You reach each one in a different way.

  1. Get the release ready

Deliver the song to your distributor weeks before release. Claim your Spotify for Artists profile.

  2. Pitch Spotify's editors

Free, in Spotify for Artists. One unreleased song at a time, at least 7 days before release.

    Editorial pitch steps
  3. Check playlists for bots

Fake playlists earn you nothing and can cost you royalties. Check five signs before you pitch.

  4. Pitch independent curators

Free by email and forms, or $1 to $6 a pitch through a service that promises a reply.

  5. Measure, then repeat

Read your source of streams in Spotify for Artists. Keep the curators who brought real listeners.

Questions

Can I pay to get my song on a playlist?

No. Spotify says services that sell streams or guaranteed playlist placement break its terms. You can pay a service for a curator to listen and reply. Never pay for a promised add.

Do you take submissions here?

No. This site explains the routes and compares the services. The free playlist tool lives on spotifystats.com.

How do you choose the order of services?

By fit: services with confirmed facts first, then by entry price. We do not rank by payment. If we ever add an affiliate link, it will carry a label.

Is this site part of Spotify?

No. We are not part of Spotify or any service in the directory, and none of them endorse us.
